Criminal Justice I & II
Criminal Justice at SAISD is a comprehensive two year program. It is taught at the Howard College (WTTC) campus and completion of the entire program provides the student with 12 hours of college credit as well as high school credits. The program focuses on the criminal justice system including the police, the courts and corrections.
Interesting subject matters are tackled in an open learning environment. Students also enjoy the ability to participate in Criminal Justice related student competitions that often culminate at the state level competition held each spring in Corpus Christi, Texas. The cap stone of the program is the internship portion of the second year. Students are afforded the opportunity and responsibility of working alongside law enforcement, corrections and legal professionals in real world settings. Students interested in federal, state or local policing as well as those interested in the correctional field are well suited to the program. The program also serves as a great foundation for those interested in the legal or forensics fields. |
