HEALTH SCIENCE I

In HS I students  learn and define basic medical terminology; identify and label basic anatomy; learn to discern ethics and legalities in the medical world; explore a variety of medical careers; and become certified at CPR and First Aid.
Students accomplish all these tasks through cooperative learning, multimedia research, and hands-on training.

Students who take Health Science I should be interested in pursuing a medically related career of some kind. They should possess a care-giver’s heart. We are looking for social, empathetic, self-motivated, and dependable students who have a true desire to help patients. Students should be comfortable making oral presentations and working closely with others.

HOSA is a national student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
